Data recovery
Critical data loss?
  • Have you ever deleted the only copy of valuable data?
  • Have you ever lost critical information following a system crash?
The potential for damage is huge

If you simply delete a file from your computer you should normally be able to retrieve the file from your 'recycle bin' or equivalent. But if you have lost the file by accidentally reformatting a disk drive or perhaps your hard drive becomes corrupted, it may still be possible to retrieve the data.
What a lot of people do not realise is that just because you can no longer 'find' a file or access a file using traditional applications, it does not mean that the data contained in the file is lost forever - it may still exist on the disk.

Help is at hand

There is a variety of techniques that Flexsys can use to recover 'lost' data. This may involve having to send the disk away to a specialist company or it may simply be a case of running recovery software. But you should bear in mind that if you use the wrong method, you may make it impossible for another technique to work. This is one aspect of computer support that is undoubtedly best left to the experts.

Industry opinion

"We're worried about people who are complacent. I would like to think most small businesses and consumers are aware of safety issues - the trick is to move from awareness to action."
Nick Staib, a member of the Get Safe Online steering committee.

Legislation is increasingly prescriptive about record keeping, a trend being reinforced by the courts. Records management is a labor-intensive activity; adopting best practices will help ensure compliance.
